A dream that is starting to be believable

Bangtan Sonyeondan’s maknae Jungkook is the main vocalist. Jungkook always sings passionately on the stage. He received great feedbacks and passed the audition and then he got casted straight away. “Even now, I’m not particularly that good at dancing or singing. I will practice harder and I want to become a main vocalist with a presence.” He’s working very hard even on his days off, he still does monitoring. He watches and replays Chris Brown, Usher and other foreign artists’ music video and performance videos over again and again, while visualizing himself becoming a ‘real artist’ (like them) someday.

Being a dancer

Speaking of Bangtan Sonyeondan, their in sync dance is one of their charms. Jungkook joined in the team pretty late during the trainee period and he has never learnt dancing before so the company’s dance teacher went to America with him for a month to learn dancing. “I have changed greatly after the trip. During the trainee period, I took those lessons with a passive attitude, but in America, the atmosphere was completely different. It was so free.” He realized that the dancing atmosphere was very important and he learnt how to express him emotions through dancing. He gradually became fascinated in dancing. “At that time, I was so into dancing to the extent that I wanted to become a dancer instead of a singer. I was torn between whether to be a dancer or a singer. I hesitated.” The members persuaded Jungkook, who was hesitating. They said to him: “we are one, let’s go together until the end.” Then Jungkook debuted as a member of Bangtan Sonyeondan, he don’t have any regrets, because he’s with his precious members and he believes that they will reach the top together.

Golden Maknae

Jungkook’s nickname is “golden maknae”, because he’s good at singing, dancing, rapping and other things. “To be honest, I was under pressure because I’m still lacking in a lot of things. The hyungs kept calling me that so I always thought ‘I need to work harder or else!!’ In order to overcome the pressure, I must practice a lot.” Just when they debuted, he made many mistakes (on live shows). During the fierce choreography, the necklace suddenly snapped, the accessories got attached to his clothes so he couldn’t dance, there were many funny stories. “There were many broadcasting accidents. But I didn’t do it on purpose, and the company supported me/ gave me encouragement. I used to get really nervous before getting onto the stage, and now I got used to it.” The maknae receives a lot of love from his hyungs. “Even when I made mistakes and thinking that I would get scolded, the members would comfort me. But there are also restrictions of being a minor (under age). I can’t attend events if it’s too late at night, because I’m a minor. And I have to stay in the dorm by myself.” It’s such a shame that he couldn’t be with the members. And he clearly knows that too. But he is still young; he will have many chances in the future to challenge many other things.

Animation. In reality, Japan is always associated with anime.

KM-MARKIT, he is a rapper and a producer that we have worked together with in Japan. His musicality is clear so I really like him.

I cried when I watched 『Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day』. Also I like 『The Girl Who Leapt Through Time』,『5 Centimeter Per Second』and『Spirited Away』.

『Parasyte』. I like it because there are a lot of actions.『Haikyuu!!』a manga about volleyball, 『Free!』 a manga about swimming,『SLAM DUNK』 and etc. I love sports manga.

Those Japanese styled alleys that appear out of the anime. It doesn’t matter where it is. I want to go to many alleys.

Ramen and mitarashi dango. Mitarashi dango tastes so good!

> What do you want to do when you come to Japan next time?

I want to walk around the streets. I like quiet place with no one around but I want to try to buy food and eat at busy places.
